Memory is one of the cognitive functions, the one that gives us the ability to hold on to information and bring it back when we choose to. In other words, it is the ability that lets us remember facts, ideas, sensations, relationships between concepts and all kinds of experiences from the past.

Some tips to improve your memory

  • Get enough sleep.
  • Keep stress in check: we know that everyday life, including work, family and social situations, causes us anxiety and stress. Try to use tools that help you regulate yourself and keep it in check; for example, read a book on a topic you enjoy, or practice mindfulness, meditation or yoga.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Keep a good work-life balance. Build the awareness to set limits on your working hours.
  • Laughing often and from the heart helps us produce endorphins, which are among the many substances the body makes that can relieve pain and give a sense of well-being.
  • Give your brain a workout.
  • Don't skip the gym: choose an activity you enjoy and try to do it at least 2 times a week.
  • Take care of any health problem properly (never avoid seeing your doctor).
